Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Akagera National Park (Travel Time: Approx. 2 Hours)

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will complete immigration and customs formalities before being warmly welcomed by our professional guide. After a short briefing about your safari, depart Kigali and drive east to Akagera National Park. Akagera National Park is Rwanda’s only savannah park and is home to the Big Five, diverse wildlife, and over 500 bird species. Upon arrival, enjoy an afternoon boat safari on Lake Ihema, where you may spot hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants along the shores, and a variety of water birds. Later, transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park (Travel Time: Approx. 5–6 Hours)

Start the day with an early morning game drive in Akagera National Park, the best time to spot wildlife such as lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and various antelope species. After the game drive, exit the park and begin your your scenic journey north toward Volcanoes National Park, passing through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside known for its rolling hills and vibrant local communities.  Arrive in the late afternoon, check in at your Hotel and relax while enjoying views of the Virunga Volcanoes.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Experience and Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund

Early in the morning, proceed to the park headquarters at Volcanoes National Park for a briefing before beginning your unforgettable mountain gorilla trekking adventure. Guided by experienced rangers, trek through the lush rainforest to meet one of the habituated families of the majestic Mountain Gorilla. Spending time observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat is a once-in-a-lifetime wildlife experience. After the trek and some time to relax, visit the inspiring Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, where you will learn about the remarkable conservation work dedicated to protecting gorillas. The campus offers interactive exhibits, research insights, and the inspiring legacy of Dian Fossey in gorilla conservation. Later, return to your Hotel for relaxation and dinner.

Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking and Cultural Experience Transfer to Kigali (Travel Time: Approx. 2-3 Hours)

After breakfast, return to Volcanoes National Park for an exciting Golden Monkey trekking experience. These endangered primates are known for their playful behavior and beautiful golden-orange fur. After the trek, visit the nearby Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, where you will experience Rwanda’s rich traditions, music, dance, and cultural heritage. Later in the afternoon, drive back to Kigali and check in at your hotel for the evening.

Day 5: Kigali City Tour and Departure

After breakfast, enjoy a Kigali city tour including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, an important historical site dedicated to remembering the victims of the 1994 genocide. You may also explore local craft markets and experience Rwanda’s vibrant culture before being transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.Your Journey will be accompanied by cherished memories of your time with us in Rwanda.
